CINCINNATI – January 31, 2012 – Each year, the University of Cincinnati and Cincom Systems co-host the Spirit of Enterprise MBA business plan competition in late February. With cash prizes and an automatic bid into the Venture Labs Investment Competition – the “Super Bowl of investment competitions – Spirit of Enterprise is a thriving incubator for fledgling business plans.

With business ideas ranging from medical devices, to baby clothes rental websites, to daily deal sites, to gluten-free baked goods the teams who visit Cincom’s world headquarters come from all over the United States and even a few neighbors to the North come down from Canada.

Cincom has been involved in the event since it’s inception due to a long-standing history with the University – Cincom CEO Thomas Nies is a double graduate of UC, holding both an undergraduate and a graduate degree – and a dedication to the entrepreneurial spirit fostered by competitions such as Spirit of Enterprise.

Soapbox Cincinnati, a local, online publication published every Tuesday, wrote about the Spirit of Enterprise in their most recent publication.

The article, UC Spirit of Enterprise business competition readies winner for international stage, is under the Innovation and Job News category.
