Stretch-Tubing Manufacturer Chooses Cincom ECM to Manage Enterprise-Wide Content

PARIS – September 8, 2010 – Worldwide EDM/ECM software provider, Cincom Systems, announces today that Salzgitter Mannesmann Précision has selected Cincom ECM for the management of their enterprise-wide content.

Salzgitter Mannesmann Précision GmbH, the new European market leader in precision tubing was created following the acquisition of Vallourec Précision Etirage (VPE) by Salzgitter AG. Its French subsidiary, Salzgitter Mannesmann Précision Etirage SAS (SMPE), manufactures and sells welded and non-welded stretch tubing from its four French factories.

Following the acquisition by the Salzgitter Group, SMPE Tubes recognized a need to reorganize the management of all of its operational and transactional documents, as a result of replacing Lotus Notes with Microsoft Exchange.

The objective of the project, lead by the Content Management department was to implement an ECM platform for the management and storage of content throughout the company.

Cincom ECM will be used as a reference point for all of the operational and transactional documents from numerous departments including R & D, Purchasing, and Environment and Quality in excess of 300 users.

By the end of 2010, a joint portal using Cincom ECM will allow 1250 French staff to easily access the documents stored in a repository.
