Combat decorated fighter pilot turned sales warrior Lt. Col. Rob “Waldo” Waldman has joined the award-winning Cincom Expert Access business magazine expert panel. Lt. Col. Waldman will contribute sales and leadership advice and answer questions from readers to help them fight daily on the business battlefield of ideas, information, insights and inspirations.
Not all of Waldman’s leadership skills came from a boardroom as the founder and president of The Patriot Group, a leadership and sales consulting firm based in Atlanta. Instead, he honed many of them in the U.S. Air Force with over 2,650 flight hours and 65 real-world combat missions.
A Military Background
Waldman graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy with a degree in human behavior and leadership and has an MBA in organizational behavior. He was chosen as an Undergraduate Pilot Training Instructor for which he received the “Instructional Pilot of the Year” award. He then transitioned to an F-16 jet fighter and was awarded “Top Gun” in his class. Waldman completed a one-year remote tour of South Korea where he flew missions along the De-Militarized Zone and was responsible for planning and managing long-range and daily logistics, training and scheduling.
Returning Home
When Waldman returned to the United States he further polished his leadership skills by managing the logistics and training operations for a 300-person organization. Shortly after, Waldman left active duty and worked for a high-tech aviation simulation software company and a major tax consulting firm before founding The Patriot Group.
Maximizing Productivity
The Patriot Group and Waldman seek to maximize the efficiency and productivity of their client’s sales and management operations. Those clients range from Hewlett-Packard and Nokia to NY Life and Home Depot. Waldman’s book, “Never Fly Solo,” will be released in December 2009.
